Rosario, Batangas along with its neighbouring municipalities are not just known for its tourist spots like resorts, beaches and adventure parks. They were also famous for their annual festivals like Sinukmani Festival, Kabakahan Festival, Tinindag Festival, Lambayok Festival and Les Kuhliembo Festival. Sounds exciting, right? Sinukmani Festival
                Rosario, Batangas have been celebrating the festival since 2005 every 9th June of the year as a way of promoting their primary source of income which is rice. The sweet delicacy was serve on long tables for local residents and visitors to indulge. Two contests were held including street dance competition where dancers wear colourful costumes made out of banig, bilao, rice sacks and other materials symbolyzing the tools used in cooking sinukmani. The other was on-the-spot making of the best and longest sinukmani which is surely spectacle sight.
                 











Kabakahan Festival
            Every 1st of December, Padre Garcia, Batangas (Cattle Trading Capital of the Philippines) is celebrating ‘Kabakahan Festival’ as a way to boost their tourism and highlight their primary source of income which is cattle and trading. They held parades of roasted cows (Lechon Baka) which will be serve to town people afterwards for a bountiful feast. Of course, there are competitions like street dance were students from different schools compete against each other while wearing colourful costumes and the famous ‘Rodeo Ala Garciano’ were contestants face rodeo challenges. This festival is not just a celebration but also a way of passing the old culture to present generation and to strengthen the connection between its town people.
               








Lambayok Festival
                Every second week of December San Juan, Batangas is celebrating the festival as a tribute to its primary source of income and to promote it. Lambayok stands for the three growing industries of the town – Lambanog (coconut wine), lambat (fishnet) and palayok (clay pot). Highlights of the event were pottery-making contest, lambanog expo and street dance competition were high school students from different schools performed while wearing costumes depicting the three industries of San Juan. The festival proves that San Juan is not just a beach destination.
